What the beta is
MPP Studio on the web (app.mppstudio.com) is open as a public beta while we build the full suite for Mac, iPad and the web. The beta is free. It is an early version: it works, but not everything is finished, and we change it often.
What you can do
In the beta you can open, view, print and export Microsoft Project .mpp files in your browser. Every beta account also gets Team Pro for free: keep plans in MPP Studio Cloud, open them on every device you sign in on, share them, invite the people you work with and edit together. The people you invite get a beta account with Team Pro too. Nothing is for sale during the beta.
Plans you keep in the cloud are end-to-end encrypted on your device before they are uploaded. We can’t read them, and we can’t recover them if you lose your devices, your passkey and your recovery key. Keep your own copy of every .mpp file you upload.
Outages and changes
While we test, the service can be slow or unavailable at times, sometimes without notice. Features can change, move or be removed. Uploading a plan never changes your .mpp file, but please don’t rely on the beta as the only place a plan is kept.
Your account at launch
Beta accounts are real accounts. When MPP Studio launches, your account and the plans in it carry over, and you keep Team Pro for 30 days after the launch date. After that your account is on Free unless you choose a paid plan yourself; nothing is charged unless you do. On Free nothing is deleted: you keep every plan you own in the cloud, view only, and while you own 3 or more you can’t add another until you are below 3. Plans shared with you stay open to view.
Launch email and updates
By joining the beta you join our launch list. We email you about the beta, about MPP Studio’s launch and, now and then, about what is new. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing doesn’t close your account. We also send the emails an account needs, such as confirming your address, resetting your password and notices about the service.
Usage analytics
To learn what works and where people get stuck, the beta reports how it is used to PostHog, in its EU cloud (Frankfurt, Germany): which screens and buttons are used, sign-ups and uploads, errors, page-load performance, your browser, device and approximate location, and recordings of how you move through the app, as a replay. Once you are signed in these events carry your account’s id, never your email address.
Nothing in your plans is sent. Recordings hide the plan itself: its name, tasks, dates, people and every field are masked, and the Gantt chart is never recorded. Clicks inside a plan carry no text, and addresses are cut to the site’s name. Our Privacy Policy has the details. To have your analytics deleted, email privacy@mppstudio.com.
Fair use
Use the beta for your own plans. Don’t try to get into other people’s accounts or plans, overload or probe the service, upload anything unlawful, or use automated tools to create accounts. We may suspend an account that does.
No warranty
The beta is provided as it is, without warranties, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for losses from using it, including lost data or downtime. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
Changes and the end of the beta
We may change these terms; the date at the top shows the version, and we will email you about important changes. The beta ends when MPP Studio launches, and the regular terms then apply. You can stop at any time: to delete your account and its plans, email privacy@mppstudio.com.
