The short version

- No tracking, anonymous statisticsNo ads and no tracking across apps. The app shares anonymous usage statistics, and you can turn them off.
- Files stay on your deviceMPP Studio never uploads your schedules.
What MPP Studio collects
MPP Studio sends anonymous usage statistics to PostHog, hosted in its EU cloud (Frankfurt, Germany), so we can see which features are used and where the app can be better: when the app is opened, which commands are used (for example Lock Plan, Print or Export), how large a plan is (number of tasks and resources), errors such as a file that could not be opened (the kind of error only), crash reports (where in the app’s own code it stopped), and the app version, device type and operating system. On iPad it may also record how you move through the app’s screens, with your schedules, everything you type and all images hidden.
These statistics are tied only to a random identifier created on your device. They never include your files, file names, project or task names, or anything else in your schedules, and they are not linked to you, not combined with other data and not used for advertising or tracking across apps. You can turn them off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage statistics; the app said so when this started. The .mpp files you open are read and written on your Mac or iPad only.
Your files
MPP Studio opens and saves files in the location you choose: on your device, or in a cloud service such as iCloud Drive or OneDrive that you have set up in Finder or the Files app. Those services handle your files under their own privacy policies. MPP Studio keeps only your display preferences, such as Light or Dark appearance, in the app’s settings on your device.
Purchases and diagnostics
Purchases are made through the App Store and handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not receive your name or payment details. If you have chosen to share diagnostics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports, which we use only to fix problems.
When you contact us
Messages you send from the support form on this website, from Contact Support or Request a Feature in the app, or by email to Support, become tickets in our private issue tracker, hosted by GitHub (GitHub, Inc., United States). A ticket holds your message and technical details that help us answer: the app or website version, device type, operating system, language and region, the size of the plan you had open (number of tasks, never its contents) and, if you allow usage statistics, the anonymous identifier described above, so we can see an error that happened just before.
Your email address is not stored in the tracker. It is kept separately on our own server and used only to answer you and, for feature requests, to tell you when your idea ships. We delete it when the conversation is finished, unless you ask us to keep you posted. Please don’t send client schedules unless we ask, and remove sensitive details first.
This website
The website also uses PostHog in its EU cloud (Frankfurt, Germany) to understand how visitors find and use the site: which pages and sections are viewed and for how long, how far pages are scrolled, what is clicked, which link or ad brought you here (campaign tags in the address), your browser, device, approximate location from your IP address, and page-load performance.
A small box asks before anything is stored on your device. If you accept, PostHog sets a cookie and local storage so repeat visits are recognised, and may record your visit (mouse movements, clicks and scrolling, with everything typed into forms hidden) so we can see where the site is unclear. If you decline, nothing is stored on your device and nothing is recorded; the visit is only counted using a one-way hash that cannot identify you and changes daily. You can change your choice at any time under Cookie settings in the footer.
The site loads PostHog through our own domain and uses no advertising cookies, third-party fonts or embeds. Our web server also keeps standard access logs (IP address, page requested, browser and time) for security and troubleshooting, and keeps them only for a limited time.
Launch list
If you enter your email address in “Notify me at launch” on this website, we keep it on our own server to send you one email when MPP Studio is available on the App Store. We don’t use it for anything else, don’t share or sell it, and delete it once the launch email has been sent. To be removed before then, email privacy@mppstudio.com.
Children
MPP Studio does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age where you live). The anonymous usage statistics described above cannot identify anyone.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA and similar laws you have the right to access, correct and delete personal data held about you. The app’s statistics are anonymous and cannot be traced back to you; what else we might have is a support email and the website analytics described above. Contact us to see or delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the effective date at the top. If a change means the app would collect more data, we will say so in the app before it takes effect.
